One question. One answer.

Should I fill up today — and where?

Most petrol apps show you a map. FuelVerdict is meant to show you a decision. Brisbane fuel prices often run in cycles — typically 7 to 10 days from low to peak and back again. The cycle model is not switched on yet, so the site will not tell you where today sits in that cycle.

Preview only. The verdict is still calibrating. Prices on this site, when shown, are historical and delayed. A live price feed is not connected.

Three words. No noise.

Once the cycle model is on, the verdict is one of three:

  • FILL NOW — prices are near a cycle low. Good time to fill up.
  • YOUR CALL — prices are mid-cycle. No strong signal either way. Fill if you need to.
  • HOLD OFF — prices are near a cycle peak. Wait if you can.

That's it. No scroll. No map to dig through. No comparing 47 stations to work out what to do. The Verdict is always at the top. Always visible. Always honest.

Ranked on one thing only.

We show two stations: the lowest price within 5 km of the suburb centre, and the lowest price within 50 km. That wider figure is not a search of the whole city. Both are ranked on price alone. No station has ever paid to appear. No station ever will.

We also run the detour maths for you. If the cheaper station is 8km away but only saves you 80 cents after the extra fuel, we'll tell you it's not worth the drive. If it saves you $4.20, we'll tell you that too.

The Verdict is free. Full stop.

Free users get the real Verdict — not a watered-down version designed to push you towards a subscription. The cycle position, the two best stations, the dollar savings — all free, always.

Later extras are only ideas so far: push alerts when prices drop, a savings ledger, route-based fill planning. None of those are built. The core promise — should I fill up today? — is meant to stay free. It is the reason FuelVerdict exists.

Built by a driver who got tired of guessing.

FuelVerdict is a product of Lodestar Labs — a one-person studio building honest, focused tools for everyday Australians.

No investors. No advertisers. No board telling us to squeeze the Verdict for revenue. Just a straightforward tool that helps Queensland drivers make one better decision every time they're near a servo.

If the data says hold off, we say hold off. Even if you just opened the app. That's the only way this works.

The rule we'll never break.

The Verdict is never for sale.

No station can pay to rank higher. No fuel brand can sponsor a recommendation. If FuelVerdict ever changes that rule, it stops being FuelVerdict.
